These rolling hills, at the base of the Palo Prieto Pass, were formed by slippage of the North American and Pacific tectonic plates. According to my GPS location at the time I took this photo, I was on the Pacific Plate. The hills you see here, are on the North American Plate. The culvert in the foreground is the San Andreas Fault. The cows have no idea how close to danger they are. ;-) Shot with a Pentax 645Z in early November, 2015.
