Yes, I used some artistic license here. This a a composite of 22 images, taken approximately 10 minutes apart, of the Transit of Mercury across the Sun, on November 11, 2019. The first image was of the Sun as it rose behind a mountain, across a valley from where I was located. I found the foreground interesting, so I used it as the base image. This is the view from the west coast of the USA. The Transit began around 4AM here, but the Sun didn't rise here until around 7AM, so that's why Mercury starts in the middle. There are only about 13 or 14 Mercury transits per century. The next will be on November 13, 2032.
